Lissa Green
Meet Lissa Green, eventing daughter of the great David and Lucinda Green.
Based in Wiltshire, the 26-year-old is full of ambition and drive to succeed in the world of Eventing.
From a young age Lissa was always told if she wanted to have the ponies she would have to work hard and prove it. And that is exactly what she did.

Tell us about your horses?
I currently have seven horses on the yard and I am actively looking for more.
The horse I am planning to take to Blenheim Palace International this autumn is Malin Head Clover, known at home as Ali G. The 13-year-old Irish Sport Horse may be small, standing at 15.2, but is absolutely fearless. He is owned by the nicest syndicate of people - and I couldn't be more grateful for their support. Ali is a really exciting horse with a huge amount of potential.
Boleybawn Free, known at home as Raffa is a 16.1hh, eight-year-old Irish Sport Horse x Selle Francais, owned by Daniela Sieff, and is currently competing at 1 star. She is very a very beautiful, elegant mare, but is quite opinionated..
Med Night Trafford Mignonette, known as 'Minnie' is a Thoroughbred x Irish Draught chestnut mare owned by Claudia Watkins. She is about to do her first 1 star having only ever done intro when she arrived in May. She definitely defies the 'chestnut mare' stereotype.
What are your must haves when buying an event horse?
Feet and front legs are the most important thing to look at, "No Foot, No Horse" are the wise words from my grandmother that always ring true. Attitude definitely overrides talent, there is nothing like riding horse that loves their job.
I personally adore starting my horses from scratch, but I certainly wouldn't say no to riding a horse that is further along in its career.
Who do you train with?
I train with Ian Woodhead for dressage and Corinne Bracken and Major Richard Waygood for showjumping.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
I haven't broken that many bones!
What is your favourite event?
Barbury International Horse Trials is my nemesis, I have never done well there, but I love it.
If you didn't ride what other career would you do ?
I studied Criminology and Forensic Science at Bristol University, which I really enjoyed, so that would be my back up plan.
Do you have any other hobbies?
Resting, relaxing and going on holiday. You can't beat watching live sporting events, I am a Manchester United fan, so try to watch them as much as I can.
Do you have any tips for budding event riders?
Enjoy the experience. Don't rush the foundations and basics, because you need to learn them. Spend time getting to know and understand the levels, the walk of shame is an important lesson.
Success isn't measured on what you have won, it is about all the failures you have come back from.
Do you have any pets?
Rico a 14-week-old Jack Russell x Pug.
Are the horses worked every day?
The horses are worked six days a week, we try to have Sundays off if we are not away competing.
