Saving our forests is seeing the wood for the trees

Tuesday June 28. Make a note in your diary

Maureen takes to the air wavesSays Maureen Comber

Please remember to put 28th June 2011 in your diaries for the Public Inquiry for the claim for a bridleway between BW54 Broxhead Common to Cradle Lane.

Starts at 10.00am at Kingsley Village Centre, scheduled to run for four days but support on the first morning is very important.

Some of you may remember that I deposited this claim on 9th October 2000.

Refused at HCC Regulatory Committee on 10th January 2007 as recommended by the Officer

I appealed to the SOS under Sec 14 WLCA 1981 on 23rd January 2007

The appeal was successful and the SOS instructed HCC to make the Order for the bridleway. This they did but immediately objected to their own Order thus triggering a Public Inquiry!!

Public Inquiry held over four days Sept/Oct 2009. The Inspector decided not to confirm the Order.

I Judicially Reviewed her finding and DEFRA immediately quashed her decision leaving the Order still to be confirmed. Thus we have yet another Public Inquiry on the 28th June.

A good show of interest on the first morning will let the Inspector see that the issue is important to local people.

Do you have any important dates for our diaries ?

I pine for a more sensible approach to saving our forests
