Horsy concerns for HS2 Phase 2
The British Horse Society urges Phase 2 of HS2 to consider the access needs of equestrians.
It is crucial that Phase 2 of the HS2 proposals preserves equestrian access crossings across the line so that horse riders’ and carriage drivers’ current access is not severed.
Mark Weston, Director of Access, Safety and Welfare said: “It is important that all equestrian access, which includes roads across the proposed route as well as bridleways, restricted byways, byways and any commons that cross the route, are preserved. The Society will be working to ensure that the access that equestrians currently enjoy is not severed by these proposals.”
